Acquire basic proficiency in midi, sequencing, recording, editing, and mixing with Avid Pro Tools. Demonstrate professional strategies as a producer, performer and engineer. Understand and implement best practices for recording music. Collaborate in a variety of creative professional roles.
Students will learn basic techniques for creating digital audio content, including MIDI and virtual instrument techniques, stereo recording techniques, digital audio editing, and session file techniques.
All Students have a workstation while in class: Mac computer with an audio interface, midi controller and headphones to facilitate their class goals with music industry software such as Pro-Tools, Logic and Finale Notation. All music production classes meet once a week for a hour and 1/2 per class.
